To the Editor:
At recent Grafton Town Board meetings (not the most recent however) there has been much mention of conflicts within our Town government. Some members of the Town Board have publicly dismissed these concerns as political grandstanding or characterized those voicing concerns as political operatives.

Letter To The Editor – Volunteerism In Berlin
To the Editor:
Due to the generosity and kindness of many people, the flower barrels in Berlin are placed and planted. Jim Winn and his crew, having stored the barrels all winter, placed them around town, Mara Murphy and Phil Riccardi donated all the flowers and Pastor Matt and Ellen Olson and many neighbors living near the barrels have volunteered to water and maintain them. Also thanks to Lou Goodermote for getting me some soil to fill the barrel at the post office in Cherry Plain. It takes a community…..

Letter To The Editor – Opinions
To the Editor:
I am a BCS alumna. I have a master’s degree. I am a Berlin taxpayer. I am the mother of a BES student. I am a BHS teacher. It is in this complex capacity that I write today in order to address two concerns: the editorialized straight news articles and the unqualified and unquantified statements made in a recent letter to the editor.

Letter To The Editor – Appalled?
Dear Editor,
I am responding to your article on the BCS District Vote under the “Accusations of Election Law Violations.” As I read the article I just couldn’t believe that the Acting School Board President, Bev Stewart, would discuss and share with Mr. Zlotnick (a candidate for a school board position) the information she had regarding a possible invalidation of the other school board position candidates’ nomination petitions. Letter To The Editor – Why Did We Vote?
To the Editor
First, I would like to thank Mr. Kramer for pointing out in his recent coverage of the debacle that was the last town meeting, that the Berlin Town Supervisor is a very qualified man with an impressive business background. Rob Jaeger has, in my opinion, done a commendable job, given the amount of grief he’s had to contend with from the very UNqualified council members with which we are presently afflicted.

Letters To The Editor – I Did Not Sign The Petition
To the Editor:
It is Tuesday, May 3, 2011, and I have just been asked to sign a petition. I did not sign the petition. What was it regarding? The purchase or attempted purchase of the Berlin Lumber site by the Town of Berlin.
I have stated in the past through personal conversation and publicly through the Eastwick Press that I, for one, am absolutely against the Town of Berlin, a public and non-taxable entity, purchasing this piece of property for a handful of very important reasons.

Letter To The Editor – Berlin Lumber – A Great Loss
To the Editor:
More people should make an attempt to go to the Berlin Town Board meetings. I admit that I was one of those people who voted people into office and assumed that they would do what was best for the town. I kept up with what was happening through the Eastwick Press. Then I decided it was time to go and support our town supervisor. He has put his whole heart into trying to improve the quality of this town. The other board members seem to want to keep everything the way it has been for years.

Letter To The Editor – Berlin Lumber – A Reflection
To the Editor:
I offer my apologies to the voters of the Town of Berlin.
How naive I was to think that after the majority of the voters on the 19th of July 2010 voted to purchase the Berlin Lumber property that the Board would not follow their decision.
Instead my fellow Board members banded together to follow their own vision of what the Town should be. This was driven by their desire to prevent the Highway Superintendent from having a better facility from which to provide service to the townspeople.

Letter To The Editor – An Amazing Outpouring Of Assistance
Letter to the editor:

Letter To The Editor – Stay Where You Are
Dear Editor,
I recently read in the paper that the Hoosick Town Supervisor and the Town Board are asking for suggestions on where to move the Town offices in the event that they will no longer be able to lease space in the Armory from New York State.
My vote is to stay where they are. In most cases, if they close an Armory, the State will offer it to towns for a nominal fee, such as a $1. The Hoosick Falls Armory is a sound and useful Town structure. Within the past few years a new roof was put on and the interior was repainted.
