Village Police Won’t Enforce Thanksgiving Dinner Limits

Ever since Governor Andrew Cuomo issued his Executive Order last week that limits private gatherings, including Thanksgiving Dinners to 10 people or less, many throughout the area have wondered if local police agencies plan to enforce the order. The answer is apparently no.

In response to a sustained surge in cases of COVID-19 throughout New England and to mitigate the spread of the virus, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC), will discontinue in-person visits for hospital patients starting 7 pm Monday, November 16.

Mass Food Giveaway A Huge Success

There is an old phrase - “it takes a village,” but in this case, it took a county, a state and lots of dedicated individuals. They all came together on Monday morning, November 9, to hand out enough food to feed an estimated 425 households or about 1,500 people.
