Petersburgh – Charles Joseph Still, 57, passed away on September 4th at his residence on Babcock Lake Road. He resided there with his wife of almost 30 years, Christine (Nicholas) Still and their daughter Caroline Elizabeth.
Charles was born on February 7, 1967, in Poughkeepsie, NY and was raised in Millbrook, NY, the son of Ann E. (Maher) Still and the late Charles N. Still, Jr. He was founder and CEO of Patient Safe Rx & Technical Education Solutions. Charles met Christine when they were both new students at SUNY Plattsburgh, NY. He charmed her and they fell in love at first meeting. If you knew Charles things that instantly come to mind were his love of family, friends, laughter, food, white water kayaking, music, dogs, Babcock Lake, his Irish heritage and his beautiful daughter, Caroline. Never did he smile as much as when she was born. He loved to read. He traveled with his kindle and read as often as he could. As a result, he was brilliant in so many ways. His career work spanned both information systems and management. He contributed to various IT projects and helped manage software and systems, making sure everything ran smoothly. His work brought him enormous success and the wonderful opportunity of presenting both nationally and internationally. His passion for white water kayaking provided great peace and solace for him not to mention the incredible lifelong friendships he made and cherished through the years. He loved to share this joy with anyone who wanted to try it. His laughter will echo the banks of the Deerfield River.
In addition to his wife, daughter and mother, survivors include his brothers David (Lila), Matthew (Leyla), brothers-in-law Michael Nicholas (Kathryn), Mark Nicholas (Christina), and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was always known as the fun uncle. He was the loudest to laugh at his own jokes and the one you hoped to see at every get-together because you knew he would help make for a wonderful time.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 16th, from the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to American Whitewater through the funeral home.
