2020 Schenectady

New Year’s Invitational Tournament

Friday, January 9. Boulevard Bowl, Schenectady. The Hoosick Falls Panthers participated in the 2020 Schenectady New Year’s Invitation Tournament which featured 20 teams from schools around the area. The tournament is a good opportunity for teams to gain some experience before next month’s Section 2 Tournament held at the same location.

The Panthers came out strong in the first game, opening up a 37 pin lead on the rest of the field and second place Columbia.

In the second game, Columbia pushed back, cutting Hoosick Falls’ lead to just 10 pins entering the 3rd and final game of play.

The Panthers held strong however, making several crucial spares and piecing together as many pins as they could down the stretch.  In the end, Hoosick Falls finished in 1st place with a total of 3796 pins, followed by Mohanasen in 2nd (3768) and Columbia in 3rd (3767).  Individual scores for the Panthers included Ziena Hurlburt 248-699, Colin Cipperly 247-678, Evan Webster 236-660, Owynn Arnold 217-620, Colin King 222-602 and Erin McCart 213-537.

Hoosick Falls will now focus on finishing out its Wasaren League season before entering the postseason and returning to Boulevard Bowl for Sectionals on February 6 and 11.
