MSgt Steven L. Porteus

Grafton- MSgt Steven L. Porteus, U.S.A.F. (Ret), 67, passed from this life in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Saturday, September 14, 2019.

 Born in New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, Steven was the son of the late John and Lillian (Martin) Porteus.  He had been a resident of Grafton since 1977.

 He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mildred I. (Milby) Porteus; his daughters, Mimi Marie Porteus, Stephanie Anne Porteus Clarke (David) and Lillian Grace Porteus (Griffin White); his granddaughter, Adriana Rose Barker; his sister, Rosemarie Kovac (John) and several nieces and nephews.

 A funeral service for Steven will be celebrated by the Reverend David Martin on Friday, September 20 at 10 am in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY.  Interment, with military honors, will follow at 1 pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.  Friends are invited and may also visit with Steven’s family on Thursday from 4 until 7 pm at the funeral home.

 Donations, in Steven’s memory, may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, the USO, or Samaritan’s Purse.
