Margaret Crucetti

September 20, 2019 By steve bradley

Hoosick Falls – Margaret “Peg” Crucetti, made the peaceful journey into heaven surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

She was born, raised, and a lifelong resident of Hoosick Falls. The red-headed daughter of the late Frank and Jenny (Corcoran) Davock and the wife of the late Gabriel Crucetti.

A graduate of St. Mary’s Academy class of 1945, she was recently honored as the oldest graduate in attendance at a celebration of St. Mary’s Alumni and friends. She furthered her education and graduated from Albany Business College.

Peg held various office related positions in her community including work at the Immaculate Conception Rectory, the Hoosick Falls Health Center, Oak Materials, Federal Credit Union as a co-manager and then at the Falls Federal Credit Union.

A loyal supporter of St. Mary’s Academy, from which her three children graduated, she gave freely of her spare time to the S.M.A. Auxiliary. She was also a member of the H.F. Health Center Auxiliary, the Elks Club Auxiliary and the Hoosick Falls Country Club. Peg was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Parish. After retiring, she volunteered her time at the HACA Food Pantry and the Hoosick Falls Health Center.

Peg and Gabe enjoyed spending many winters at their home in Port Charlotte, Florida, playing golf and making cherished memories with their family and friends, both old and new.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was the guiding hand that led them, the voice of comfort, and the light they could always turn to for encouragement and support.

She is survived by her children, Gary Crucetti, Patti (Bernie) Zilinskas and Michael (Amy Dooley) Crucetti. Also sharing a piece of her heart and unconditional love were her eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who lit up her life with much joy.

Peg was pre-deceased by her sister Jane Rourke and brother Bernard Davock. She is survived by her brother Thomas Davock as well as many special nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday September 20, at 11 am, from the First United Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 am until the start of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers those who wish to honor her memory may make a contribution to either the Immaculate Conception Church or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street , Hoosick Falls, NY, who are handling the arrangements. The family would like to thank the entire staff who cared for our mom at Samaritan Hospital, for their expertise, kindness, love, and support.
