Elizabeth Plungis

Hoosick Falls — Elizabeth “Betty” Plungis, 99, died peacefully in her sleep at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation on June 19, 2019. She was the wife of the late Anthony Plungis.

Betty was born on September 23, 1919 in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Gustatis) Kukanskis. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Robertshaw-Lux, Inc. in Waterbury, CT. Betty was a great lover of animals, especially dogs.

Survivors include her nephews, Frank Melesky Jr. of Celina, OH, Robert Melesky of Hoosick Falls, NY, Peter Kukanskis of Woodbury, CT, Carly Davino of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Blinstrub of Clifton Park, NY, nieces Elizabeth Gravel and Diane Gavitt, both of Southington, CT and Laurie Cestaro of Waterbury, CT, as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, Hoosick Falls, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite animal rights charity.

The family would like to particularly thank the staff at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation for their kind care for Betty
