Grafton, NY
Franklin G. Etman, Sr., 71, formerly of Grafton, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Van Rensselaer Manor.
Born in Troy, NY on December 28, 1946, he was the son of the late Felix E. and Margaret M. Clancy Etman.
A 1966 graduate of Troy High School, Frank worked at General Electric in Schenectady before being inducted into the United States Army in January of 1967. He served in Germany from January of 1967 to December of 1968 and continued his military service in the United States until January of 1973. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to General Electric. Frank then worked for the United Traction Company (now CDTA) in Albany for many years. He became a Certified Security Officer last working for St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy retiring in 2006.
Survivors include his five children, Franklin G. Etman, Jr. of Pittstown, Jeanne (Bob) Fish of Green Island, Arthur (Marcia) Etman of Green Island, Jacqueline Etman of Pittstown and Scott (Ptarmigan) Etman of Cambridge; his siblings, Margaret A. (Leonard) Claus of Grafton, JoAnne Morand of Jacksonville, FL and Timothy (Pauline) Etman of Grafton along with 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Estella M. Schultz.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, September 15 at 10 am at the Grafton Baptist Church with Pastor Trygve Tomlinson officiating. Burial of ashes will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Petersburgh.
