Greenwich – Ronald L. Elwell, 68, a resident of Greenwich passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer where he suffered greatly, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pittsfield, MA, on May 1, 1950 to the late Albert and Lillian Vey Elwell.
Ronald was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Deer and Turkey hunts with his twin brother Bob in Petersburgh, NY were special to him. He worked for Espey Manufacturing in Saratoga Springs for 17 years but was forced to retire early because of health issues. He loved his family dearly, he was a great brother and he will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Debra Elwell and brother Ernest Bruno. Survivors include his twin brother Robert (Karen C.) Elwell of White Creek, NY; sister Jeanette (George) Phillips of Petersburgh, NY; younger brother Albert (Carol) of Rock City Falls, NY; several nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for Ron’s caregivers Sue, Misty and Ricky.
Graveside services in the Elwell family plot were held at 1 pm Wednesday, August 1 in the Garfield Cemetery, County Road 26, Stephentown, NY, 12168 with Pastor Mike Benoit officiating.
