HACA To Begin Lenten Luncheons

February 8, 2018 By eastwickpress

The Hoosick Area Church Association will begin its schedule of Lenten Luncheons on Valentine’s Day, Ash Wednesday. Each Wednesday through Lent a different HACA church will preside over the luncheon and prepare and serve soup and sandwiches. All the luncheons are held at the Hoosick Falls First Baptist Church on Main Street. Everyone is welcome. The luncheon begins with a prayer service. The theme for 2018 is Matthew 25:40: “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’.”

The schedule is:

February 14 – First United Presbyterian Church, Pastor Donna Elia… for I was hungry

February 21 – Community Alliance Church, Pastor Jonathan Youngmann… for I was thirsty

February 28 – Immaculate Conception Church – Father Tom Zelker… for I was a stranger

March 7 – St. Mark’s/All Saints – Pastor Paul Baker… for I was naked

March 14 – Cornerstone Fellowship – Pastor Mike Benoit… for I was ill

March 21 – Hoosick First Baptist Church – Pastor Dave Hall… for I was in prison

March 28 – West Hoosick Baptist Church – Pastor Ed Blanchard… whatsoever you do for the least of my sisters and brothers

A good will offering supports the HACA Food Closet.
