David Corlew Sr.

Stephentown, NY

David S. Corlew Sr., 73, of Stephentown, NY passed away peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center on Saturday, February 17, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Grafton, NY on December 11, 1944, he was the son of the late Daniel S. and Elsie Vanderwell Corlew. He was the loving husband of Elvia Gardner Corlew for 54 years. They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary April 14 of this year

David attended Berlin schools and was employed as a service mechanic for McClintocks in Stephentown. For many years he worked in the maintenance department as a groomer operator for Jiminy Peak. He also owned and ran DS Corlew Excavation for 35 years.

David enjoyed vacationing in Maine and going to tag sales.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Elvia include, his son David S. Corlew Jr. of Stephentown, two daughters, Karen Bombard (Mark) of New Lebanon and Kimberly Corlew-Draper (Randall) of Pittsfield, MA. David was grandfather to Duane Cassavaugh Jr. of Stephentown, NY and Colin Russell of Lowell, MA. and great-grandfather to Eva Cassavaugh. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Sanford. David was predeceased by two brother, George and Daniel Corlew.

Relatives and friends were invited to call from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, February 20 at the Perry Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 Averill Park, NY. The funeral service will be private at the request of family.

Donations in memory of David S. Corlew Sr. may be made to the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department 396 State RT 43 Stephentown, NY.
