Doris M. Hoffman Hodges

Doris M. Hoffman Hodges, 95, formerly of Berlin, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at The Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls.

Born in Stephentown on December 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Schnerr Hoffman. Doris was raised on her family farm in Stephentown and resided in Berlin most of her life. She was employed by W. J. Cowee, Inc. in Berlin for over 30 years.

Doris loved to garden, always cut her own wood and enjoyed walking. She was a member of the Grafton Baptist Church.

She was the wife of the late Otis L. Hodges who died in 1976; beloved mother of Elizabeth Turley of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and William L. (Gail) Hodges of Hoosick Falls; adored grandmother of Scott (Christine) Hodges and Rae Hodges Philpott both of Hoosick Falls, Christine (Dwayne) Nadeau and Kara (Ethan) Levinson both of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and 8 great-grandchildren. She is sister of the late Louis, Walt and Harold Hoffman, Helen Jones, Flossy Stevens and Viola Liebenow. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service, which will be announced, will be held in the spring at the Meadowlawn Cemetery in Petersburgh.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205.

Arrangements are by the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home in Petersburgh. A condolence book is available at ParkerBrosMemorial.com.
