Congratulations to the 10u Hoosick Falls Fury – 2017 Hudson-Mohawk League Champions!! These girls worked so hard all year and it all paid off in the final games of the season on Monday, July 24.

Game #1, under a gray sky, got off to a tough start with the Miss Shen Rebels jumping out to a 4-0 lead. As they did all season, the 10u Fury fought back with 4 of their own to even the score. Remembering what they were playing for, the Fury defense tightened up and the offensive engine started to turn. In the end, the Fury won 11-5. The battery of Belle “Digger” Stefanovich and Lilly “The Wall” Gardell were on fire.

The offensive attack was led by Lilly Gardell who racked up 2 doubles and a triple, driving in 4 runs. On the bases, Zoe “Nails” James and Brooke Tonnesen both stole home to help put the game out of reach.

In Game #2 the Fury jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The Rebels answered with 4 of their own. Never taking their eyes off of the prize, the Fury went on to outscore the Rebels 11-3 down the stretch for a 13-7 final score. The offensive standouts were Aidan Dence (single, RBI), Erin Conety (double, RBI), Taegyn “The Hammer” Hart (single, RBI), Jennifer Bryant (double, single, RBI), Mary Walker (single, 2 RBI), and Brooklyn Tilley (single, 2 RBI).
