New York State Police said the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was attempting to exit the parking lot of the Grafton Town Store on Route 2 when it was struck by a westbound Dodge Pickup on Monday, July 31. Two people were transported to Troy hospitals with what troopers said were non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was restricted and alternating in one lane during the rescue and clean up. Access to the store was still possible. As of press time, the investigation was ongoing, and it was not clear if any traffic citations would be issued. Besides the Mohawk and Empire Ambulance Services, the Grafton Fire Department assisted with traffic control and the clean-up of debris from the roadway.
