Motorcyclist Collides With Trailer On Route 7

July 27, 2017 By eastwickpress

by Steve Bradley

Two Massachusetts drivers, one on a motorcycle and one in a car towing a loaded boat trailer, were involved in an accident at the entrance to the Hoosick Sunoco station on Saturday.

The accident occurred at 3 pm when the car/trailer entered the station, coming from the east, in front of the motorcycle that was headed east toward Bennington. After leaving 40 feet of skid mark on the road, the motorcycle was unable to stop before coming in contact with the boat trailer.

The driver was injured and a brand new looking Boulevard motorcycle sustained significant damage when they collided with a boat trailer that pulled across the road to enter the Sunoco station on Route 7 on Saturday, July 22. Photo by Steve Bradley

The motorcyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to SVMC in Bennington by the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad. It was unclear which driver, Gary Shaw, 60, of Uxbridge or Jeffey Dupuis, 53, of Cheshire, was the driver of the motorcycle. The Village of Hoosick Falls Police, NY State Police, Hoosick Fire Department and Cambridge Rescue Squad also responded to the scene.
