Whispering Willows Wild Care brought some of its Owls and a Raven to the Community Library last Friday night, July 14. The program, originally slated to be held in the Library’s backyard was moved into the basement because of the threat of storms. Whispering Willows presents educational programs at schools, assisted living facilities, birthdays and special events as well as at area libraries.
They are also involved in Wildlife Rescue, as the birds show at Friday’s program had been rescued after some sort of accident, in this case often hit by a car or truck. The owls get their name because of the two tufts of feathers atop their head. They are also the second heaviest in the owl family, exceeded only by the Snowy White.
