Both vehicles were extensively damaged, as was the the small Ford that Gist was towing, which was whipped into the ditch upon impact. The Hoosick fire department, Cambridge Valley and Town of Hoosick Rescue squads and NYS police responded to the scene. Cahill’s Garage removed all three vehicles.
Saturday evening at 8:30 pm West Hoosick Fire Department was called out when an SUV traveling at a very high rate of speed, witnesses said 70-80 mph, on Beck Road struck two parked vehicles in front of Matt Beck’s house. The 17 year old, driving an SUV, was apparently trying to outrun her boyfriend, who was close behind her, when a car approaching from the opposite direction caused her to adjust her direction and collide with two small cars parked in front of the home. She slid down the side of the first vehicle then slammed into the rear of the second vehicle. The impact shoved the parked vehicle about 100 feet along the road, and drove the entire rear corner of the vehicle into the cabin of the vehicle to the front seats. The driver and her young female passenger were transported by rescue squad with non-life threatening injuries. West Hoosick Fire, NY State Police and the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squard responded to the scene.

Sunday the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad responded to an accident in Pittstown. A Jeep pulled out of the Sunoco station into the path of a minivan, sending the van over the edge of the roadway and into the ditch. Three people were injured. Rebecca Bender, 39, and Kira Bisson, 23, both with listed addresses of Hoosick Falls were the two drivers involved, but it was unclear which driver was exiting the station. Mohawk Ambulance and the Town of Hoosick Rescue, Pittstown Fired Department, NY State Police and Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department responded.
On Monday, an accident on Route 7 just east of Lumberjacks coffee stand resulted in a small Ford truck being removed from the scene by Kneer’s rollback. The Vermont registered truck was passing a car driven by a resident of Hoosick when the truck drifted to the right and struck the car. The car suffered minor damage while the truck ended up in the guardrail. The Hoosick Fire department, with its members still dressed in their parade best after participating in the Hoosick Falls Memorial Day parade, responded for traffic control. The NY State Police also responded.
Finally, an accident at the intersection of Route 67 and Buskirk-West Hoosick Road sent a man to the hospital in the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad. A pickup truck and a compact car were involved. It was unclear what happened, but it appeared one of the vehicles pulled out in front of the other at the intersection. NY State Police and Rensselaer County Sheriffs Department also responded.
