Boys Fall To Top Seeded Greenwich

June 1, 2017 By eastwickpress

The HFCS boys lacrosse team (10-5, 8-4) couldn’t keep pace with the Greenwich Witches (16-1, 13-0) and were eliminated from sectional play by a score of 18-4.[private] The Panthers were coming off their biggest win in the program’s history when they defeated Maple Hill in first round sectional play on Monday to advance to play Greenwich on Friday.

The Panthers fell behind 12-2 at the half and the polished Witches wouldn’t allow the Panther to get anything going, stopping everything the Panthers tried to do.

Dennis LaPage, Guy MIlliman, Roman Vyvial and David Everard each had a goal for the Panthers. The Witches, headed to the sectional finals for the fourth year in a row, faced Cambridge on Tuesday. Greenwich defeated the Indians, 10-3, in the championship game. Class A Queensbury is the only team to defeat the Witches this year. [/private]
