After hatching trout eggs in Mr. Toole’s Advanced Placement Environmental Science class, students successfully released the young fish in the Little Hoosick River on May 15. [private]They hatched eggs and released the young fish through the Trout in the Classroom program. Trout in the Classroom is a curriculum developed by Trout Unlimited to promote greater understanding of ecosystems and water resources.
Over the course of the school year, the AP students studied trout development and aspects of water quality. They also brought a bucket of river water back to the classroom for further study.
The class was joined by Bob Davis, a local volunteer for the Home-Waters Chapter of Trout Unlimited. [/private]
