Residents of the New Lebanon Central School District approved all three of the propositions on the ballot May 16, including an $11,855,000 renovation project.[private] By a vote of 313 to 95 residents approved a $12,409,824 budget for the 2017-18 school year. The plan represents a decrease in spending over the current year’s budget and a decrease in the tax levy of 1.18%.
Proposition 2: $8,755,000 District-Wide Renovations, passed by a vote of 269 yes to 134 no.
Proposition 3: $3,100,000 Gym Addition Renovation at Walter B. Howard Elementary School passed by a vote of 248 yes to 155 no.
Residents also voted to fill two seats on the New Lebanon Board of Education. Richard Sime with 290 votes and Michael Bienes Jr with 53 (write-in) votes were elected to three-year terms. [/private]
