On Tuesday, May 2, the first public organizational meeting for Celebrate Stephentown, a weekend of events celebrating Stephentown’s vibrant rural community happening August 18 through 20, was held at the Stephentown Memorial Library. [private]
Representatives from the Library, Corkscrew Rail Trail, Stephentown Food Pantry, Stephentown Historical Society, Stephentown Veterans, Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department and Wyomanock Center for Sustainable Living were in attendance, as well as the owners of Berkshire Blueberry Lodge, Down in Denver Books and Kinderhook Creek Farm, all of which are already planning to participate with coordinating events around town that weekend.
Celebrate Stephentown, which is being put together by the Library with support from the Town Board, also hopes to make connections with the many other organizations, local artists and artisans, and public and home-based businesses in town in order to invite them to participate in the planning process and to attend the next organizational meeting, happening in the Library’s Community Room on Tuesday, June 6 at 7 pm
All interested parties are encouraged to contact Library Board President, Scott Menhinick, at scott@celebratestephentown.com for more information. [/private]
