New Lebanon CSD Announces Class of 2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Congratulations to Timothy Lambert III, who was has been named the New Lebanon Class of 2017 valedictorian, and Megan O’Brien, who has been named the salutatorian. Both students will be honored at the commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 24.
[private]Valedictorian – Timothy Lambert III
Lambert is the son of Timothy and Robin of New Lebanon. He has a weighted GPA of 96.99. He has excelled in a rigorous course load and has taken seven college and honors level courses including: Advanced Placement Calculus, University English, Physics, Biology, History, Precalculus, and Spanish V. He will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Honors, Advanced Designation.
Lambert has been the recipient of the Clarkson Leadership Award, Gellert Cornell Admission Invitation and the University of Rochester: Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology. In addition to excelling in academics, he has been a member of the New Lebanon society of literature, travel club, band, jazz band, choir, varsity track and field, soccer and volleyball teams.
An active member of his community, Lambert has volunteered at the Shatford Park Program, completed community service in Costa Rica on a trip with the Travel Club last year, and volunteers for the Backpack Program.
Lambert is still deciding which University he will be attending in the fall. He plans to major in biology or science, and hopes to go on to medical school.
Salutatorian – Megan O’Brien
O’Brien is the daughter of Joyce O’Brien of West Lebanon. She has a weighted GPA of 92.50. She has taken seven Advanced Placement and college level courses including: University Precalculus, History, Biology, Spanish, English, Physics and Advanced Placement Calculus. She will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Honors, Advanced Designation. O’Brien has been the recipient of the Clarkson University Achievement Award, Elmira College Key Award and the Sage Student Scholar Award.
In addition to excelling in academics, O’Brien has been a member of senior choir, jazz choir, and the varsity softball and soccer teams. She was named First Team all-star for soccer this past fall. During the season, she works at both Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort and Lebanon Valley Speedway. O’Brien is still deciding which University to attend in the fall. She plans to major in biology and hopes to go on to a Physician Assistant Program or Medical School.
