Jared Ray Andrick (JR) died unexpectedly at his home on April 10, 2017 in Hoosick Falls, NY from a seizure disorder. He was 37. Jared was born on February 18, 1980 to his parents Edward and Laurie Andrick.[private]He was a graduate of a Questar program for students with Autism in 2001. Jared then became a member of the Battenkill Community Services. (BSC) NO Walls Program serves clients challenged with the workings of everyday life. Jared experienced the bonds of friendship and teamwork, enjoyed trips to Ridin-Hy Dude Ranch where he canoed, swam and spent time with his many friends. The staff of BCS and their commitment to integrating daily life skills, within many communities, allowed Jared to participate in parades, visiting the sick, meals on wheels deliveries also to participate in a Special Olympics Bowling program.
Though BCS was a big part of his life, living with his Mom and Dad at home is what Jared favored. He especially liked long drives with his Dad exploring new roads and listening to the radio. His love of music and dancing were things that stayed with him his lifetime. Mom of course was his favorite person as only a Mom knows her child like no one else. Even though Jared lacked the ability to speak, he heard and understood all around him. Making use of a translator when needed, but body language was his main means of communication.
Jared had always been a special and unique person that taught us about being kind and compassionate of others. The patience gained from interacting with Jared will forever be ingrained in those who loved him. As a person with only goodness in his heart and the strength to deal with his own limitations, Jared truly will be missed by all who knew him.
Jared is survived by his Mom Laurie, Dad Ed as well as his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. A Viewing was held from 5 to 6:30 pm followed by a Memorial Service at the Mahar Funeral Home in Hoosick Falls on April 18. Memorial contributions may be made to Battenkill Community Services in Greenwich. [/private]
