Derby Club Preparing For Annual Bash

April 20, 2017 By eastwickpress

It all started with the Kentucky Derby in 1935 when Omaha won!  Since that 1935 Kentucky Derby, The Derby Community Club was formed, and over the decades, has been committed to serving the local community. [private] Until 2004, the Derby Club was strictly a men’s club.  In that year, two women joined and made history for the club!

Presently, the members are preparing for their annual Pre-Kentucky Derby Celebration and 82nd Anniversary, which will be held at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Friday, May 5, from 6 to 9 pm.

Admission is $10, which includes food, music by DJ Kevin O’Malley, Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffle, horse pool. Auction (includes “The Contessa Package for Saratoga”), hat contest, and door prizes.  The Kentucky Derby Race is still known as the “Greatest two minutes in sports” and the Derby Club’s annual celebration (fund raiser) is only getting bigger and better each year, and it’s going to be  H – U – G – E!

Please call Joanie James at 518-686-7559 for information.[/private]
