Johnsonville – Barbara “Barbie” Ruth Hewitt, 48, died on Monday, April 3, 2017, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.[private]
Born in Bennington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Donald Seward and Patricia Ellen Horton Hewitt, Jr. She was educated at the Berlin Central Schools.
Barbie cared for animals, including her dog, “Valerie” and enjoyed working with different types of fabric crafts. Most of all, she was a very generous, giving and loving person . . . always ready to help others in need. In addition, Barb was also a good cook and enjoyed preparing dishes for others.
She is survived by her sister, Karen (Mike) Donato of Averill Park; her Aunt Beverly and Uncle Jack Decoigne of Castleton, her Aunt Nancy (Phil) Caruso of Kenmore, her Uncle Timothy and Aunt Allie Horton of Douglas, MA, her Uncle Fred (Carol) Horton of Delmar; a niece, Patricia Knapp of Rensselaer; a nephew, Samuel Donato of Averill Park; and a dear friend, Tom Ruth, of Johnsonville.
A Memorial Service was held at Connecting Point Church at 568 Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush on April 8, with the Rev. John Westfall, Pastor, officiating.
