Adelia St. Hilaire

Hoosick Falls – Adelia Agnes (Davendonis) St. Hilaire, 90, passed away on Monday April 10 2017, surrounded  by her family at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. [private]She was the loving widow of Raymond  E. St. Hilaire of Hoosick Falls.  Adelia and Ray were together for 71years until recently with Ray’s passing on March 16. . They now will be together forever.

Adelia was born on November 13, 1926, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of the late John and Cecelia ((Zabela) Davendonis.  Adelia worked shortly at the White Flomatic and later part time at Andricks’ Studio. Her main “job” was that of  an ever caring, compassionate, loving, mother. Even during her final months on earth Adelia was more concerned about the health of others than her own.

Adelia loved to bake, looking for 4 leaf clovers, rainbows and scratching a few lottery tickets in her later years.

She was a huge fan, along with Raymond, of Roger Federer and were thrilled to watch his latest Grand Slam tile, the 2017  Australian Open.

Survivors include children Diana Grogan (Bud) of Pittstown, NY, Cecelia LaPorte (Richard) of Attleboro, MA, Theresa Cote (Michael) of Wolcott, CT, Mary Briere (Steve) of Bennington, VT, Robert St. Hilaire, Mary (Toomey) and Raymond, Denise (Adams) all of Hoosick Falls, NY, also survived by eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Adelia was also predeceased by her  sisters Anne Como and Helen “Nellie” Toohey,  brothers Ralph, Anthony, Peter and Walter Davendonis.  A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Thursday April 13, at 11 am, from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends called at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls, the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  [/private]
