Combined Band Concert

The fourth annual combined band concert will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 7:30 pm, in the High School auditorium.[private] The concert will feature performances by the Hoosick Falls Central School Symphonic band under the direction of Robert Allen, The Hoosick Falls Community Band under the direction of Bill Gaillard and a combined band under the baton of both directors.

The Symphonic Band will present: Charm by Kevin Puts and the Second Suite in F by Gustav Holst. This Suite has been for years a literary giant among band selections and is a level six listing in the State manual. Level six being the most demanding of literature for bands. The four sections of the Suite are: March, Song Without Words, Song of the Blacksmith and Fantasia on the Dargason.

The Hoosick Falls Community Band will present: Highlights from OLIVER music by Lionel Bart, Clarinet Marmalade arr. by John Edmondson, Grand March from “Aida” by Guiseppe Verdi, and Fete Triumphal (a concert March) by J. Olivadoti.

The combined band of over ninety members will present: Images of Ireland by Brian Balmages,and Pines of the Appian Way by Ottorino Respighi. These will be directed by Rob Allen. Light Cavalry Overture by Franz Von Suppe and Symphony No.5, in E Minor ( “From The New World”) by Anton Dvorak will be directed by Bill Gaillard.
