Another Honor For Grafton’s Innkeeper Elsie Risedorf

March 9, 2017 By eastwickpress

By Doug La Rocque

Members of Graton’s Historical Society gathered at the Grafton Inn on Sunday to thank Elsie for her many years of service to the Town and as a member of the Society’s Board of Trustees. [private] Elsie, who just celebrated her 90th birthday, was given the title of Trustee Emeritus.

Risedorf is finally retiring, after more than 30 years running the inn she and her late husband Ken purchased in 1986.

She told the story about first hearing that the inn was for sale and sending Ken north from their New Jersey home to look it over.  She wasn’t enthused about his report so decided to check it out herself.  “The moment I walked through the front door I knew I was home.”  For all these years since then it has not only been her home, but a place that has hosted many a guest, and many a function for the town she came to love, which in turn loved her. [/private]
