The Grafton Town Board met in special session on Thursday night January 26, where they accepted the resignation of Town Clerk Kathy Mason-Wagar.  Mason-Wagar cited personal reasons in her letter as the cause for the resignation.  [private]The Board then appointed Vicky Burdick as the new Town Clerk. Burdick has served as deputy since Kathy Mason-Wagar assumed office on January 1, 2016.

Town Supervisor Ingrid Gundrum thanked Mason-Wagar for her service, and said the Board expressed its complete confidence in the new Clerk, and hoped for a seamless transition.  The resignation took effect that evening.

Burdick’s appointment is from now until the end of the year.  In next fall’s election, the remaining two years of the current term of the Town Clerk will be on the ballot. Also on the ballot next November are two Town Board seats, currently held by Michael Crandall and Allison Kirchner. Burdick was also appointed the Registrar of Vital Statistics. [/private]
