Grafton Pays Its Bills And Unveils A New Website

By Doug La Rocque

On Wednesday December 28 the Grafton Town Board gathered to pay all remaining invoices to close the books on 2016, an expense that totaled about $49,000. [private] Town Supervisor Ingrid Gundrum said all the entries to the books have yet to be completed, but she does believe the Town will finish the year with a modest budget surplus.

The Board also approved a resolution accepting a new contract with the U.S. Postal Service to keep the post office housed in the small town-owned building at 6 Roxborough Road, next to the Senior Center.  The agreement is for 5 years at the current rate of $800 per a month.  There is a renewal option that increases this rental by $50 a month.

Supervisor Gundrum also announced the town has a newly designed website that includes not only information on town officials, meeting and contact information, but also has a new section for news and notices as well as a special section called “Grafton Shines.”  According to Ms. Gundrum, this space will be used to feature the wonderful people and special features of our community.  The site is up and running at townofgraftonny.info. [/private]
