Blanche Lillie

Hancock, MA – Blanche Rathbun Lillie, 87, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Springside Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Pittsfield, MA.  [private]Born in New Ashford, MA on Febuary 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Olive White Rathbun.  Blanche was raised in Hancock, MA and was a graduate of New Lebanon High School.

She was employed by Eaton’s Paper Mill in Pittsfield before raising her family in Canaan, NY.  She returned to work in the late 60s as a nurse’s aide at Berkshire Medical Center.  She was a great homemaker and was a member of the Flatbrook Baptist Church in Canaan, New York.

She was the wife of the late Ralph Lillie who died in 1956; beloved mother of Ralph Lillie of New Lebanon, NY, Sharon L. (Ronald) Carrione of Pine Brook, NJ and Donald (Patty) Lillie of Canaan, NY. She was the loving grandmother of Ashley Lillie, Jonathan (Karen) Daughtrey, Esther (Lowesky) Rosario and the late Gordon C. Daughtrey; sister of Norman Rathbun of Hancock, MA, and the late Helen Scace and Harriet Whitman.  Also, she is survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Route 43 on Saturday, January 7 from 12 noon  to 1 pm. Visiting hours will be followed by a service at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in the Hancock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Christian School, 160 Changebridge Road, Montville, New Jersey 07045.
