Two Tough Road Matches For Panther Bowling Team

The Hoosick Falls bowling team won a tough match on the road on Thursday December 8 against Hoosic Valley, taking all 4 points at Hilltop Bowl. [private]Hoosick Falls finished with a match total of 3619 to Hoosic Valley’s 3249. Sophomore Chris Snyder continued his excellent start to the season with a 233-654. The 5 other varsity bowlers for Hoosick Falls all managed to top 580 pins in an incredible team performance.  Their scored included: Meghan Backes 257-612, Tyler Lindsey 222-596, AJ Hurlburt 202-595, James Hynd 202-581, and Jon Bossoni 213-580.

Hoosic Valley had some impressive scores of their own for the home team including: Charles Cumo 256-678, Blake Weigert 245-591, Frank Able 198-525, and Rob Passineau 197-502.  Hoosick Falls also saw some good scores from their JV bowlers, including: Owynn Arnold 192-545, Colin King 212-519, Erin McCart 188-504. Senior Matt Bulson also added a 194 game. With the win Hoosick Falls moves to 4-0 on the season with a point record of 16-0.

The team’s next match was against the Warriors of Stillwater on the road on Tuesday December 13. The Panther bowlers split a tough match against Stillwater, winning 2 of 4 points.  The Warriors won their two points by taking the first two games, by 21 and 13 pins respectively, leaving Hoosick Falls 34 pins in the hole. The Panther varsity bowlers rallied together to win the last game by 52 pins, enough to secure the team’s second point, a match total 3136 to 3118 win for Hoosick Falls.

Co-captains AJ Hurlburt 223-625, Jon Bossoni 211-598, and Tyler Lindsey 219-595 led the Panthers while Brittany Myers 279-693 and 211-589 led the Stillwater bowlers.  The JV Panthers posted good scores from bowlers young and old led by Senior Dan Suite 209-480 and 7th Graders Brody Mullen 210-498 and Colin King 180-489.  Hoosick Falls moves to 18-2 on the season and looks to bounce back strong on Thursday as they host Corinth at home.  Stillwater moves to 13-2. [/private]
