2016 Rosekrans Memorial Award

December 23, 2016 By eastwickpress

Rensselaer County Cornell Cooperative Extension has announced that this year’s Rosekrans Award will be given to Patrick Michel. He was nominated and elected by the Rensselaer County 4-H Cattle Clubs. [private]The Rosekrans Award is an award selected by the Cattle Program Development Committee (PDC), in memory of Helen Rosekrans. Helen was a long time cattle leader and considered a Schaghticoke Fair “mom” to all, during her time.

The award was designed to recognize an outstanding high school graduating senior who has been a “model” 4-H member and involved in the cattle program throughout their 4-H career.

Patrick Michel has been an active member of 4-H for the last 11 years and very active in the Dairy Cattle Program.  He is very knowledgeable and takes opportunities to participate in personal development events and trips.  He has participated in showing his dairy cows, dairy judging, dairy challenge, and was a delegate at the National 4-H Dairy Conference. He has grown into a true leader.  He is comfortable addressing a group of peers and adults, and has taken 4-H networking opportunities and turned them into career opportunities, thereby setting a great example for other members. He is truly a role model. His 4-H family wishes him well as he continues his education at SUNY Cobleskill.[/private]
