Upcoming Events At Stephentown Memorial Library

 Family Movie Night – Bring the family and enjoy a showing of a new release film on Friday, October 21 at 6:30 pm. This month’s movie returns to Underland and is rated PG. [private]Running time for this movie is 113 minutes. Popcorn and juice will be served. This event is free and all are welcome!

Information for Seniors – Thursday, October 27- Catholic Charities Senior & Caregiver Information Services will hold office hours from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at the library on the 4th Thursday of each month. Seniors can receive useful and objective information, assistance and advocacy in a variety of areas. Caregiver information services offers assistance to caregivers at their time of need, particularly creating a care plan for the new caregiver and coordinating respite services. This program is open to all seniors and caregivers.

Teen Halloween Dance – Saturday, November 5 from 7 to 9 pm at the Berlin Jr/Sr High School. Ride the haunted bus from Berlin Jr/Sr. High School and join the fun at the SML Haunted House. Dance with DJ at the school and enjoy the spooky Haunted House under SML tent. Haunted bus will transport teens back to Berlin after the Haunted House. Call for details. Sponsored by TRACS and Stephentown Memorial Library, along with Town of Stephentown.

Stephentown Youth Halloween Party – Sponsored by the Stephentown Memorial Library and the Town of Stephentown. Young children, Pre K through 5th grade, and families are invited to the Stephentown Fire Hall on Sunday, November 6 from 1 to 3 pm for the annual Halloween Party. Fun activities for all ages will include a Haunted House under the library tent, costume contest, crafts and activities, including special activities for toddlers/preschoolers; Price of admission – one bag of candy. Trunk or Treating is an opportunity for townspeople and organizations to give out candy to our kids from the trunk of their car. Contact the library if you’d like to participate in this activity! Extra candy will be donated to troops overseas via Operation Gratitude.

Museum Pass Program – Fall is a great time to visit area museums. Your library card is the key to free admission at local area museums. Use your Stephentown Memorial Library card to check out a pass to the following local museums: The Berkshire Museum, Hancock Shaker Village, MASS MoCA, and The Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute. You may call ahead to reserve a pass. One pass at a time is allowed per household and passes are checked out for 2 days. Passes typically admit 1-4 people at member level, some additional fees may apply for certain exhibits.

If you don’t have a library card, we will be happy to issue one at no charge with proof of residency. Call or stop by the library for details.
