Steve Surdam, Jr. takes the checkered flag in his event. Surdam finished in 14th place in his class and 54th out of 120 overall, about nine minutes behind the leader in the 1½ hour race. [private]Competing in the same race was Surdams’ father, Steve, Sr., who finished 17th in class and 63rd overall. The Stateline Hare Scramble was held Saturday and Sunday at the Potter Hill track on Fish & Game Road off Route 7 in Hoosick. The event, hosted by the Stateline Riders, under the sanctioning of the New England Trail Rider Association, drew over 100 competitors to the over six mile course.
