Field Hockey Grabs Wins

HF 4 – Corinth 0

Monday, September 12 at HFCS. HF 4-0, C 1-2. Ally Burdick got the Panthers on the board with 6:42 left in the first half. [private]Less than a minute later Caitlyn Boyd, assisted by Cecilia Vincent, drove home another score.

In the second half, Eliza Whitman scored twice, once unassisted and once on an assist from Liz Ryan. Zoe Gress had one save and Kaitlin Backes had three. Corinth’s Kayleigh Mosher ended with seven saves.

HF 1 – Warrensburg 0

Friday, September 9 at Warrensburg. HF 3-0, W 2-1. Warrensburg always plays the Panthers tough and this game was no different. The regulation time was scoreless until with less than a minute left Warrensburg scored. But the score was nullified due to a penalty and the game went into OT. Liz Ryan scored in the second OT to bring the win home for the Panthers. In goal, Kaitlin Backes had one save and Zoe Gress had three. Warrensburg’s Britanny Frasier was kept busy with 17 saves.

HF 3 – Granville 2

Wednesday, September 7 at Granville. HF 2-0, G 1-2. Gabby Hunt gave the Golden Horde the lead with an unassisted goal at the 17:46 mark. The Panthers struck back with a Sydney Luke goal assisted by Liz Ryan. The second half saw Liz Ryan strike paydirt, with an Ally Burdick assist, early in the half. Granville’s Bri Thomas retied the game at 25:27 with an assist from Gabby Hunt. Ally Burdick scored what would be the unassisted winning goal with 14:29 left in the game. Zoe Gress (2 saves) and Kaitlin Backes, (2 saves) split time in goal. Granville’s Cheyenne Oakman had five saves.[/private]
