Nearly 200 of Hudson Valley Community College’s top students were honored with a variety of academic achievement awards this spring. The awards celebrate the depth of student excellence across the college’s more than 80 academic programs.
[private]Students are selected for honors by faculty and departmental administrative staff. Local students honored include:
Erika Pelletier of Petersburgh, who received The Doris and Hy Rosenblum Consideration Award, which is presented to a graduating student who demonstrated the qualities of caring and community service, and carries at least a 3.49 GPA.
Jennifer Edwards of Hoosick Falls, who received the Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer Award for Excellence in Library Research – Honorable Mention, which is selected annually by the Dwight Marvin Library faculty and recognizes a student’s outstanding accomplishment in library-based research.
Matthew Mears of Petersburgh, who received The English Department Four L Award: Celebrating Language, Literature, Learning and Laughter, which is presented to a graduating senior in a Liberal Arts or Individual Studies program who has excelled in English.
Tyler Rondeau of Hoosick Falls was given The Centennial Award, which is given by the Sage Colleges to an outstanding local transfer student in honor of the college’s 100th anniversary. Rondeau is studying in the Physical Education Studies academic program at HVCC.
Reilly Holbritter of Hoosick Falls, who received the Award for Excellence in Student Teaching, which is given to a graduating Early Childhood student who has shown excellence in the student teaching portion of their studies.[/private]
