225th Anniversary Events

August 11, 2016 By eastwickpress

Several events remain in Petersburgh’s 225th Anniversary Celebration. To commemorate the bicentennial we are trying to find anyone who has video footage of the events held in 1991.[private]If we can find some footage we can get it transferred to disc to be played at the October event. We need to have any footage by September 6 so that it can be done in time. We would also like to have photographs of historic Petersburgh, the bicentennial, veterans, etc. Photographs do not need to be donated, they can be scanned and returned to you on the spot. A digital copy can be given to you if you bring a flash drive. Please contact the library during regular library hours to set up an appointment or bring your photographs to the October 22 event to have them scanned.

On Saturday, September 17 from 2 to 7 pm a Fox Hollow Retrospective will be held with 4 bands at PVMCC and a chicken barbecue put on by the Petersburgh Methodist Church. More details to come. On Saturday, October 22 there will be a Harvest Festival with a potluck dinner followed by the Hill Hollow Band performing. We would like to show any video footage from 1991 during the meal.

On Friday, November 11 there will be a potluck supper with Veterans Recognition.

On Saturday, December 3 there will be a tree lighting and a variety of other activities. Everyone is invited to all of these events.[/private]
