For 30 years Dianne Mosher has been an instructor of science, class advisor, involved in almost anything that went on at Berlin High School. When classes resume this fall, the school district will be missing a big personality whose role can never be filled in quite the same way. [private]
Dianne is retiring this year, with plans to do some traveling, especially to New Hampshire to spend time with her grandchildren. Having purchased a new home just four years ago, she said she looks forward to finally getting time to “settle in”. The community that she has loved and served so long gathered at the Berlin Municipal complex Saturday to express their heartfelt thanks and wish Dianne and her family a happy retirement.
Dianne said she loved teaching, and being involved in the school’s theatrical productions for all these years. She describes drama as one her passions. She also pointed out she will have very fond memories of the Class of 1996 and their Senior Trip to Virginia Beach. It was the first time she served as a class advisor.
Live music, Dianne’s favorite foods, a bounce house for the kids and a chance to mingle with friends, faculty, staff and students past and present all greeted those who stopped by to wish Dianne good luck. Berlin Supervisor Rob Jaeger said he was glad the town could offer the large lawn of the complex for the party, and felt it was a good way to cap off a week of good news for Berlin, referring to the businesses who are investing in Berlin. Lisa Dooley, who worked at the school for many years, said that without Dianne there, it will feel like they rolled up the carpets and shutout the lights. That was the kind of brilliance she brought to the school.
For her part, Dianne wished to thank all of those who help make her time at Berlin Central so memorable, and especially to all of those who helped make her party such a success.[/private]
