James Friel, Breyden Jones and Ben Jones helped stock the Walloomsac River with thousands of brown trout on May 26. [private]
The trout ranged in size from 8 to 14 inches. The truck arrived from the New York State Rome Hatchery about 11:30 am and with the help of the boys and about ten volunteers, the fish were all swimming in the river by 1:30 pm. Earlier in the year, rainbow trout were stocked in both the Walloomsac and Hoosic Rivers. It was the first state stocking of the Hoosic River since 1979. [/private]
