Sarah Sigot, a senior at Hoosick Falls Central School, is one of twelve Capital District students selected to receive the first annual Kings and Queens of the Community award. Recipients were selected based on academic success and community service. Sarah has been an honor student throughout her high school career. [private]
In addition, she is an active Girl Scout, taking part in many service activities including participating in the annual food drive, caroling in the nursing homes, and volunteering at day camp.
She is currently pursuing her Girl Scout Gold Award by implementing a weekend back pack project in school. She is working in conjunction with the Regional Food Bank. For this project, students who do not have enough to eat for the weekend bring home a backpack filled with food. She is also active in Key Club and National Honor Society, where she helps with the annual Christmas Wish and tutors a student every other day in school.[/private]
