Rensselaer Plateau Alliance invites you to a Land-Owner’s Open House on Wednesday, May 18 at Old Daley on Crooked Lake in Averill Park. Drop by anytime between 3 pm and 7 pm. [private]Wondering how to conserve your woodland? How to get help paying your property taxes, get a grant to work with a forester on a plan for your woods or how you can participate in community solar? Do you have legal questions about your land? Join us at this free Open House where experts in these areas including a land use attorney will be there to answer your questions.
In addition, RPA staff will be available to discuss ongoing opportunities of the Forest Legacy Program.
A recently funded Forest Legacy project will conserve 12,348 acres on the plateau by paying participating landowners for development rights. It will create a conserved area that stretches for 14 miles and links state land (Cherry Plain State Park), county land (the Dyken Pond Center), and the new Rensselaer Plateau Community Forest.
The Landowners Open House is free to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information visit www.rensselaerplateau.org. or call 518-712-9211.[private]
