Panthers Fall To Cambridge In Sectional Play, 12 – 8

May 26, 2016 By eastwickpress

The Panthers were taking it to the Indians early in the first half. They had the Cambridge Indians confused and back on their heels. Hoosick Falls was sharp and the score reflected that. The Panthers got the possessions and scored on them. [private]

It looked like the HFCS boys lacrosse team might get their first-ever sectional game win. Cambridge is a good, proven lacrosse team and by the time halftime rolled around, the Indians had worked their way back into a tie with the Panthers at 6-6.
Cambridge took over the game in the second half. Sloppy play, mostly misguided passes by the Panthers, resulted in critical turnovers. The turnovers gave possessions to Cambridge that they shouldn’t have had and Cambridge took advantage of those possessions, outscoring the Panthers 6-2 in the second half.
Noah Labarge, Remington Hickey and Caleb Jones each had two goals, while David Everard and Cole Votra each added one.
Cambridge advanced to play Greenwich Tuesday in Greenwich.[/private]
