Many teams and more than 100 walkers gathered at GLSP Sunday for the 7th Annual Great Strides walk. Cystic Fibrosis is a life threatening genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits the ability to breath. [private]

Sunday’s event was one of five held in May around the Capital Region and part of 300 nationwide. The event raises funds for CF research and treatment. While the total for this year’s event wasn’t known yet, Development Director Kate Quinn said last year the Grafton walk raised more than $30,000.
Cutting the ribbon to start this year’s event is Mat Kempf of Hoosick Falls, shown with members of his family and teammates. Their team is called “Hoops for Mat.” [/private]
