The Berlin Central School District’s proposed 2016-2017 budget of $19,560,875 easily passed at the polls Tuesday night.
The final count was 225 Yes, 83 No for the budget, which will see a .59% increase in taxes. [private] Two referendums, one for a bus purchase and the other for the $100,000 Capital Project, also passed with 241 Yes, 65 No and 233 Yes, 75 No respectively.
New comer Sherry Bowman-Kluck, won the most votes in the School Board race, with 248. Incumbents Rachel Finney with 243 votes and Jeffrey Paine with 223 were re-elected. Bowman-Kluck will take over Board member Liz Miller’s seat after Miller declined to run for re-election.[/private]
