Grafton Planning Board Gives Its Approval To A Pair Of Subdivisions

April 21, 2016 By eastwickpress

By Doug La Rocque

Public hearings were held before the regular meeting of the Grafton Planning Board on Monday evening, April 18, with no speakers present for comments on either of the two minor subdivisions presented to the Board last month.  The first is a 4-lot division of property between Scott Newell and Anita McCabe.  [private]There are currently three lots on the property, that will be divided into four nearly equal lots, all consisting of a little more than five acres.  Three of the lots would front on Pond View, with the other fronting on Benker School Way.  Newell said he plans to sell three of the lots for residential construction, while keeping the fourth lot, at least for now.

The second public hearing dealt with a 2-lot division of land owned by Alex Basse on Claus Road. Basse wants to split off 1.33 acres from his 7.82-acre parcel, and construct a 60 foot right of way so his other 14-acre parcel will not be landlocked.  The Board declared a negative environmental impact on both proposals, and approved the subdivisions by a 4-0 vote.  Board member Art Surprise was absent.

The Board was also slated to hear a proposal from Jane McDermott about plans to construct a Banquet Hall at 40 Dunham Road.  The details of the proposal have not yet been worked out, and the presentation was postponed until the May meeting.[/private]
