Presenters at the meeting included two groups of our students. Kianna Flavin, Adriana Hendricks and Paris Defillipis received a silver medal for their “Little Dresses for Africa” project.  Little Dresses for Africa is an organization that sends dresses and shorts to missions.  The dresses and shorts are made from pillowcases.  While the group started in Africa – they now send these garments around the world, including the United States.

Ashleigh Stevens and Megan Harrison received a bronze medal for their “Light the way for Adam” project.  This project was based around a walk-a-thon in the fall.  The walk-a-thon was used to raise money for St. Jude’s Hospital in memory of Adam Morse, brother of FCCLA member Danielle Morse.

Katie Mellett finished her term as an NYS FCCLA Vice President of Finance and Secretary.  She represented New York State for one year. One of her duties was to a attend the National FCCLA meeting in Washington, D.C. last summer from July 4-July 9, 2015.

Trevar Hall was part of the color guard, wearing his boy scout uniform during the Opening Ceremony. He also did great job as our IT person.

Accompanying this group were Advisor Dianne Mosher, chaperone Tammy Osterhout and parents Marianne Hall and Hillary Mellett.

FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is a student-led leadership organization.  While in Oswego our group of students not only participated in presentations of their own, but also attended leadership building workshops, had opportunities for career tours at local businesses and listened to Motivational Speaker, Marc Witt, Vice President of Sales for the Binghamton Senators Hockey Club.[/private]
