Saturday, April 2 – Four Legged Friends Hike at 10 am.  Will your pup find the first flowers of Spring?  Join us to find out what’s new in the park and meet some new dog pals for your pup. Meets at north end of main playground and will head out on a 2 mile hike. All dogs must be on a 6’ leash. Please rsvp: 279-1155.[private]Friday, April 8 – Outdoor Tykes: Free Nature Program for Little People at 10 am. Hands-on play and learning in the forest and fields of Grafton. No charge! Friday, April 8 – First Star Watch of 2016 at 7:30 pm. Join Albany Area Amateur Astronomers for a free tour of the night sky with telescopes provided.  Cloudy skies may delay to Saturday, so call 658-9144 to confirm.  Please use Winter Entrance and follow signs to program at Deerfield lawn. Free!
Saturday, April 16 – Knights of Columbus 5k Run for the Hungry and Homeless at 9 am.  Take a run through the park for the health of others in the Capitol Region community who need help.  Proceeds from this run will benefit the Rourke Center and Joseph’s House & Shelter in Troy, NY.  For event information, contact Maureen Cox: maureencox12@gmail.com
Wednesday, April 20 – Sunset and Moonrise Hike at 7 pm.  Come join us to hear late day sounds of Spring, birds calling good night and spring peepers singing their hearts out.  This will be the last  outing until late Autumn under the nearly full moon, as it rises too late for an outing after this month!  Meets at Shaver Pond Center, 194 Shaver Pond Rd in Grafton, NY.  Space is limited, so please rsvp: 279-1155.
Sunday, April 24– Fabulous Amphibians Sunset Program at 6:30 pm.  Join us for an evening with some of our most ribbeting neighbors, to find out if they actually say “ribbet!”  Learn about the talkative fellows we hear every day and a few who are a bit shyer. We will start indoors but then take a short hike to a wetland, so please wear closed-“toad” shoes! $2/person or $5/family. RSVP: 279-1155.
Thursday, April 28-Trout Discovery Day at 1 pm.  Help us release the  Brown Trout we’ve been raising since October, and  discovery how much trout and people have in common. This interactive program for kids is a perfect opportunity to get them outdoors during Spring Break. $2/person or $5/family. RSVP early as program will fill up: 279-1155.

Saturday, April 30 – Birding Program for Fledgling Birders at 8:30 am. Birds are one of the best ways to connect  with  nature.  This class will help beginners (aged 8 and up) learn the basics of bird identification and behavior, and start to understand the colorful, lively , melodious avian world in their backyards.  Students will learn field techniques for finding, watching, and understanding what the birds are doing. Emphasis will be placed on using both eyes and ears to discern bird life.  Please bring binoculars if you have them. RSVP 279-1155
Saturday, May 7 — I Love My Park Day from 9 am to noon.   Come show your favorite park some love! Join us for a day of service in the park! We’ll work on trails and beautify the park for Spring.  Projects available for families as well as adults.  Morning refreshments for all, plus free tshirts for early registrants (before April 10)!
