Just because school’s out, that doesn’t mean learning needs to take a vacation too. The Hoosick Falls Central School District is again offering summer programs that your child will find fun and enjoyable.[private]Summer Science Enrichment Program
Kids today are growing up in a world of virtual reality where they can travel anywhere with the click of a button. We would like to provide experiences with and in nature to make actual observations instead of viewing them on the computer. Studies show that children who are exposed to outdoor experiences do better in a variety of subject areas including English, Math, Social Studies, Language Arts and, of course, Science. Our Summer Science Program is not simply a series of trips to exciting and aesthetic locations. It is an interdisciplinary approach to learning about the environment.
For students going into 8th grade, there is a Summer Science Enrichment Program, which takes place in August. This program happens over a period of five days and includes exciting educational activities. This program explores our natural history through field trips and connects the students with experts working in the environmental field.

Another program HFCSD is offering this summer is the Outdoor Education Program, which takes place over a six-week period. Students will learn, at the introductory level, activities such as kayaking, hiking, and archery.
