Hoosac Students’ Artwork Chosen For Juried Albany Exhibition

Seven students from Jason Jansen’s printmaking class at Hoosac School entered artwork in the Capital Rep’s “Reach for the Stars” Exhibition inspired by The Blue Sky Boys at the Capital Rep. All of the seven students’ work was accepted.

The theme of this juried art show reflects advances made in the arts and sciences throughout history. Submissions were open to students in the Capital Region in grades five through 12. The exhibition runs from March 11 through April 3 at Capital Repertory Theatre, 111 North Pearl Street, Albany, and is open to the public. There will be a show reception on Friday April 1, from 5 to 7:30 pm.

Jansen and his students explored the connection between the Arts and advances in science throughout recorded time, from the invention of the abacus, to the discoveries of Galileo, and the way technology changes our everyday life. The students are Noah Lane,William Belec, Jack Becker, Fred Chen,Yalena Akkus, Nick Bulashvili, and Joyce Zhu.[/private]
